What counts as a stop?

One stop is one location (pickup, delivery, or waypoint) you send in an optimization request. We bill and count optimized stops after the engine processes your payload, not raw rows you discard before running.

What is the difference between "included stops / month" and "max stops / call"?

They are two independent limits, and every plan has both: Included stops / month . Your monthly billing allowance across all requests. Stops processed beyond it are charged at the plan's overage rate (except Free, which is a hard cap). Max stops / call , the maximum number of stops accepted in a single optimization request (one POST /lots/{id}/plan , one depot, one run). Payloads above this cap are rejected; split them across multiple calls. Example on Growth (150,000 included / month, 3,000 per call): you can issue many requests of up to 3,000 stops each until you reach 150,000 optimized stops that month. Enterprise has no per-call cap.

What routing features unlock on each plan?

Each paid step unlocks engine capabilities: not only more stops: Free (Duck) : stop-count balancing and clustering only. Starter (Hawk) . Adds volume and weight capacity for real cargo operations. Growth (Eagle) : adds time windows for appointment-style deliveries. Scale (Condor) . Same routing as Growth, with the monthly and per-request stop volume large fleets need. Enterprise (Phoenix) . Same engine as Scale, plus custom SLA, unlimited credentials, and unlimited fleet catalog resources.

How does overage billing work?

Each paid plan includes a monthly stop bucket. After that, every extra stop is $0.015 on Starter, $0.008 on Growth, and $0.004 on Scale, the same rates wired into /pricing and the calculator. Example: Starter at 16,000 stops/month ≈ US$69 + 1,000 × $0.015 = US$84 before tax.

Is the Free plan intended for production workloads?

No. Free is capped at 2,000 optimized stops/month and 150 stops per request, with stop-count balancing only (no time windows, volume, or weight). Use it for integration tests and staging; move to Starter or higher before production traffic.

Question 7

Can I change plans at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately at the new rate. Downgrades take effect at the next billing period so you are not mid-cycle on two incompatible entitlements.

What happens if I exceed my monthly included stops?

On Starter, Growth, or Scale you stay on the API: we add overage charges at the plan's per-stop rate ($0.015 / $0.008 / $0.004 respectively) until the month resets. On Free (2,000 stops/month, 150 per request) there is no paid overage. Requests are blocked or rejected once you hit the cap until the next cycle.

Do unused stops roll over?

No. Included stops reset each billing month. Overage is only for stops above the included amount in that month.

Is there a free trial on paid plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. New paid subscriptions use a 14-day trial in Stripe Checkout (see billing docs). You can cancel during the trial to avoid conversion to paid. Trials are tracked per plan tier so you cannot reuse the same tier's intro trial indefinitely.

When should I talk to Enterprise instead of Scale?

Enterprise is for very high sustained volume (think 1,000,000+ optimized stops/month), custom SLAs, dedicated infrastructure, or compliance-heavy deployments. Below that threshold, Scale (US$1,290/mo, 350,000 included, $0.004 overage) is the self-serve ceiling on this site.

Why do higher plans show a lower price per extra stop?

Larger plans include more stops and use a lower marginal rate: Starter $0.015, Growth $0.008, Scale $0.004. That is intentional volume pricing. Not a bug. The pricing calculator on /pricing shows the cheapest legal combination of plan + overage for any volume you type in.

Question 13

What's the difference between route optimization and clustering only?

Full optimization sequences and routes stops under your constraints (time windows, capacities, etc.). Clustering-only groups stops into territories or batches without a full sequencing pass. Use it when you only need geographic grouping.
